Focus Communications helped plan, organize, and facilitate the Stronger Together Library Conference, an event designed to empower Alberta’s library community to connect, learn, and grow.
The Stronger Together Library Conference (STC) welcomes 450+ attendees from across central and northern Alberta to explore key issues that shape the future of libraries and librarianship.
The Objectives
- Provide a complete branding to cover every visible aspect of the conference including a new logo.
- Provide a brand new website for easy information sharing and a custom coded registration platform.
- Create a visually striking sponsorship package and act as the sponsor liaison.
- Plan the conference and all its necessary aspects for before, during and after the event.
- Create all print and digital conference materials.
The Outcome

Discovery
Focus Communications started by meeting with the six conference partners—The Alberta Library, Peace Library System, Yellowhead Regional Library, Northern Lights Library System, Library Association of Alberta and the Alberta Library Trustees’ Association.
We learned about what they wanted to achieve with the conference and who they wanted to attend.
Focus then began location scouting to find a suitable venue for a 450+ person conference.

Logo Design
Focus developed a fresh logo and cohesive brand identity, including new colour schemes.

New Website and Registration System
Focus then built a brand new website for the event. It was built to be visually appealing and jam-packed full of functionality, including the ability to process ticket sales directly through the website.

Sponsorships
Focus acts as the sponsor liaison, making sure all aspects of their sponsorship are fulfilled.
We start by designing a visually striking sponsorship package, and give the previous year’s sponsors the first right of refusal to participate in the conference.
We ensure they receive exhibitor booths, their logos are featured on the website and in sponsor loops around the venue.

Conference Handling & Logistics
Our roles encompass all event management and logistics, from pre-event planning through day-of execution. We handle A/V, name tags, print materials and programmes, speakers, menus, and sponsorships.
We also handle post-conference communications and attendee evaluation forms.
We are proud to manage this important two-day industry event on behalf of the Stronger Together Library Conference.
