Nikka believes that the world is limitless. Every day is a chance to make things better.
Nikka’s passion in art started young. She discovered her talent when she won an environmental-themed art competition in Grade 4. She led her team to win the gold medal for the creative use of recycled materials.
“I used unusual things I found interesting and made it into art,” she says. “Everything followed after that. I was known to be the most creative in our class.”
Nikka attended Manila’s ivy league arts university, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts (Cum Laude).
After graduation, she worked for U.S.-based employers as a graphic designer. Her experience gave her opportunities to work with local and international clients. She then joined SM Supermalls, one of the largest corporate companies in the Philippines, as a marketing officer. She designed and delivered marketing campaigns for 53 malls throughout the country. However, that didn’t stop her from challenging her skills. She started to explore the world of advertising as an art director at Foote, Cone and Belding (FCB).
Having travelled to more than 10 countries, Nikka believes that the world is limitless. Every day is a chance to make things better. Her goal is to use her design skills to empower, enlighten, and engage people.
Her long list of foreign places now includes Canada, although this time she’s not just visiting. Edmonton, Alberta, is her new home.
