Communications Training for Managers |
Date: To be Announced Time: |
Drawing on current research, best practices and our experience, this workshop will help set the stage for more effective communications in any organization. Participants will come away with a greater understanding that communication is a shared responsibility (one that today’s generation insists upon), and the tools to help them get started right away.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
Why communicate? This section discusses communication: what’s in it for the manager and what’s in it for the employee. We often hear what head office wants managers to say. But what is it that employees want to hear?
Employee engagement. This section discusses the impact that engaged employees have on the bottom line and the seven factors to engagement.
Today’s workforce. Who comes to work each day? What factors influence their preferred methods of communication? Here, we explore the generation gap between those who are likely in charge (Veterans and Boomers) and those who are likely on the front line (Gen X and Y).
Effective communication. This section covers different communication methods to reach different audiences. Where do we start? What’s the role of the middle manager?
Case study. Lastly, we review a case study for an imaginary furniture manufacturer, XYZ Corporation. In this hands-on section, we tackle how to start, and continue, the dialogue with XYZ’s range of employees about the company’s new strategic plan. Participants are given opportunities to assess how they would handle each aspect of the communication process, and explore what they need from their staff to be successful. |
